Elementary School
In our primary grade curriculum we continue building the foundation towards nurturing “generations of ecologically aware, bilingual individuals providing them with the skills and motivation to make environmentally and socially conscious decisions on a local, national and global scale.”
Students arrive on the bus at 7:45am and have time to play with friends before classes begin at 8:00am. The day often starts with an activity focused around the classroom community. This could be a class meeting, time to share, or a morning ritual. Once completed, students begin their lessons. The elementary curriculum revolves around six environmental and social studies based themes during the year. Subjects are integrated as much as possible to help students make the connections in their learning.
Classes are facilitated in English for the majority of the day. Students receive instruction in Spanish for one hour per day during Spanish Language Arts.
