Volunteer Information

Volunteers generally work in our garden, on reforestation projects, trail maintenance, general maintenance, and on miscellaneous tasks needed on campus.  You will be working mainly with our land manager, Milton Brenes.  Past volunteers have also worked on computer networking, teaching music lessons, leading yoga classes, making brochures, working in our library or helping out in our development office.  These are talents that should be mentioned either during orientation or preferably on your application, to help the program coordinator better manage your time.

Volunteer Fees

Volunteer Application fee: $50.00 (download application)

Volunteer Program fee including homestay: $161 per week (includes three meals per day and laundry)

Volunteer Program fee without homestay: $70 per week

The Program fee includes: Spanish lessons, programs and workshops at the school, bus transportation to and from school, e-mail access, and two trips a semester.
